Anybody is welcome to drop in on our practices. From skaters who have years of experience to those who have never worn a pair of skates in their life. Here’s how to get involved:
Discord is Collision’s primary form of communication between members and other skaters in our community! On the server we have all the information about practice times, practice location, local derby events, etc.

Sign Up for a Trackkarma account
Trackkarma is a website that Collision uses to track where everyone is at in terms of assessable skills, which can then be viewed by the skater to know where they are in assessments. Collision requires skaters to pass three sets of assessments before being able to compete in regulation bouts.
Required gear for practicing
If you haven’t invested in gear yet but will still try out the sport, we have many sets of loaner gear available to borrow at the practice space.
- Quad Skates – we have a few pairs of skates to borrow at the warehouse, but we advise you contact the league beforehand if you need to borrow skates to ensure we have something in your size.
- Helmet – Skateboard helmets, Derby helmets, and Hockey helmets are all safe to use in derby play, bicycle helmets are NOT.
- Knee Pads
- Elbow Pads
- Wrist Guards
- Mouth Guard – required for contact play
- Water Bottle
